Day 13 – Page at Lake Powell to Death Valley

Our morning in Page started early again. Right after breakfast we started for the Antelope Canyon tour which began at 8. We were picked up by an offroad car in Page. A 20 minutes journey on dirt roads later we made a very impressive walking tour through the Antelope Canyon which is a slot canyon. We have never seen such beautiful caves before. You cannot imagine all the nice colours created by red sand stone, light and shadow.

Right after the tour we began our ride to Death Valley which is a drive that passes through 4 US states, namely Arizona, Utah, Nevada and California. And that is what we did on one day only. Unintentionally, we also passed by in Zion Nationalpark as our road to Death Valley was passing through this Nationalpark. Lucky enough, we used our chance and made some very nice photos by just passing this beautiful area.

A couple of hours later we reached in Furnace Creek Ranch, Death Valley. The temperature was a little above 30 degrees Celsius and the sky was pretty cloudy. We could even see some rain up in the air. However, this rain was not really reaching the ground, only very few raindrops fell on our bodies. We would have expected cloudy sky everywhere except from here. Our US journey is an amazing travel, we can always expect the unexpected.

We concluded our evening by taking a small tour around Furnace Creek Ranch and by spending quite some time in the pool.
