Travelling with CaRe: Day 9 – First day in Las Vegas

Our first morning is Las Vegas started a little too early but with the best recompensation that you can imagine. We should have been picked up by a shuttle to the Grand Canyon airport Boulder. However, as our shuttle bus was too late we were picked up by a limousine. It feels like being in a dream. You are in Las Vegas and there is a limousine waiting for you.

After a one hour drive to the airport we boarded our helicopter for the Grand Canyon flight. It was our first helicopter flight ever and it just felt amazing. We had views above Grand Canyon that we will never forget again. The helicopter landed on the ground of Grand Canyon and we had a little champagne picknick at this place. But being there and being thrilled by all the impressions the last thing you want to do is to eat. That is why we walked around and enjoyed the atmosphere still not believing what is happening to us.

Just one side note: We also flew above the Hoover Dam which is known as one of the most impressive dams of the world. From the helicopter it was not impressive at all as it seemed pretty small from this perspective.

After the helicopter flight we returned to the hotel and did a small recovery from the morning program. We also took our breakfast from the huge hotel buffet.

Our afternoon trip was to the Red Rock Canyon which is not far from Las Vegas. It features really nice coloured rocks that change between red and yellow stone.

During early afternoon we dived into the Las Vegas life of all the casinos and hotel lobbies. You can really get lost over here as there is always a way into the hotels and casinos but will will hardly find your way out once you are in. The most beautifully arranged spot so far was the New York New York which has a rollercoaster and very nice New York style house facades.
